On the 2nd of December the second edition of the reading competition (Penguin Readers’ Master) was held in our school. It was organized by two English teachers: Monika Zaklukiewicz and Anna Dylewska). 14 students from different classes took part in the competition. They read stories in English from our school library collection and did reading comprehension tests. The competition was organized at two levels: pre-intermediate and intermediate. The winners were:
Intermediate level Pre-intermediate level
1st place – Ania Majka (4H) 1st place – Agnieszka Słabiniak (2H)
2nd place – Magda Drąg (3D) 2nd place – Karina Różycka (2D)
3rd place - Joanna Kędra (3H) 3rd place – Anna Gmiterek (3H)
The winners got dictionaries and reading stories funded by the Pearson publishing company. All the participants improved their language skills and found out that reading in English can be satisfying and worth a try.
